Purpose
There have been a series of workshops since 2001 hosted separately by the B-Factories and jointly starting from 2006 in the area of semileptonic. These workshops have proved to be a valuable venue for the exchange of ideas between the theoretical and experimental communities. We fully expect this trend to continue in this year's workshop.
Measurements of the CKM matrix elements |Vcb| and |Vub| have improved dramatically over the last few years. There remain, however, significant theoretical and experimental difficulties that must be overcome before the precision of the |Vub/Vcb| ratio can match that of sin2b.
This workshop will focus on inclusive semileptonic decays and the related theoretical computations, paying particular attention to the interpretation of the current data and defining the strategy to analyse the full dataset coming from the B-Factories in 2008.
The intent of this workshop is to bring together the theoretical and experimental communities and to encourage exchange of ideas through free and informal discussions.
